Mr. M. A. Mannan, MP, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Planning, People’s Republic of Bangladesh graced the convocation chair. He was nominated by His Excellency Md Abdul Hamid, President, People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor of Leading University. After conferring degrees of 4734 graduating candidates he congratulated them on this memorable event of their life. In a very inspirational speech he ignited patriotic zeal among graduates referring to the spirit of the month of March and our great liberation War. He focuses on meaninglessness of life without freedom and emphasized on the connection among education, ethnic existence as Bangali and our liberation as the roadway to the development of our country.
Former Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University and former member of Bangladesh Public Service Commission Professor Shariff Enamul Kabir presented the conference speech in this graduation ceremony. Professor Kabir highlights the 18 years journey of Leading University and said that university is the center of research and invention as it is a place of where knowledge is nourished. It opens the minds of the students to the light of learning and paves the way to explore the world.
Founder Chairman of Board of Trustees of Leading University Danobir Dr. Syed Ragib Ali, other members of BOT, Mr. Banamali Bhowmick, Treasurer of the University, members of Academic Council and Syndicate members were present at the 3rd Convocation ceremony. The convocation brought faculty members of all departments, dignitaries and distinguished guests, alumni, family members and friends of the graduates, officials together.
A festive mood was prevailing all over the campus during the convocation. 3207 students earned bachelor’s degree and 1527 students acquired master’s degree from the faculties of Modern Science, Arts and Modern Language, Social Science and Business Administration. Chancellor’s gold medal is bestowed upon Moupiya Sen from BBA Programme. Another 12 students were recognized with Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medals, Founder’s Gold Medals and Co-Founder’s Gold Medals, four in each category. The ceremony was inaugurated and closed with national anthem of Bangladesh.
A scintillating cultural programme at the evening added a different flavor to this event where Mymansing Geetica and popular Band group of Bangladesh Souls mesmerized the audience through their splendid performance.
