A seminar on “Higher Study Abroad” was held at the Sylhet Zilla Parishad Auditorium on 16th June, 2016. The seminar was organized by the Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Leading University, in association with the Electronics Club, LU. Prof. Dr. Md. Qumruzzaman Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor, Leading University was present as the chief guest of the seminar. Prof. Dr. Kh. Md. Mominul Haque, Dean, Faculty of Modern Science, and Head, Dept. of EEE, presided the seminar. Lt. Col. Munir Ahmed Quadery (Retd), Registrar and Brigadier Gen. Nurul Huda, CEO, Ragib-Rabeya Foundation were present as the special guests.
After completing their undergrad program, students often face various difficulties pursuing their further study on relevant field in abroad. Even sometimes they bewilder to choose universities suitable for them. Issues like convincing a professor to get financial assistance, supporting standardized tests (GRE, IELTS, GMAT etc.), motivation letters, recommendation letters, research and publications are also pivotal to study in abroad.
The objective of this seminar is to direct the students to find solution of these issues. In this seminar, speakers described on application procedure in the USA, Canada and Europe. Also, they had present an overview regarding preparation before sitting for IELTS and GRE test. In addition, they had instructed the students about how to write a statement of purpose (SOP), letter of recommendation (LOR) and research papers. To make all these things easier, each participant has been provided with a DVD containing university lists, professor list, format of SOP, LOR, CV, resource for IELTS, GRE, GMAT etc.
