The Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day was observed amid due solemnity and national fervor at Leading University. The Day started by placing floral wreath at Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar. A rally was brought out with banner, placards, etc. from the university premises.
As a token of condolence to the martyrs black badges were also put on to commemorate the ultimate sacrifice of the great sons of the soils in the Languages Movements of 1952. Leading University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Kabir Hossain led the Rally. Professor Dr. Tofayel Ahmed Dean Faculty of Business Administration, Registrar Lieutenant Colonel Munir Ahmed Quadery (Retired), Student Welfare Advisor Professor Md. Abul Kalam Chowdhury, Controller of Examinations Md. Showkat Hasan Choudhury, Proctor Professor Bashir Ahmed Bhuiyan, all Head of the different Departments, Faculty Members, Club Advisors, Officers, students and club members were present at this occasion.
