Biography

Md Shafayet Shahed Ornob is an academic researcher and practitioner specialising in Management Information Systems, with scholarly interests centred on digital transformation, business analytics, Industry 4.0, and sustainability-oriented development. He completed both the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management Information Systems at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Bangladesh, where a strong academic foundation was developed in information systems, data-driven management, and technology-enabled organisational processes.

His research primarily investigates the economic, organisational, and social implications of digital technologies, particularly within emerging and developing economies. Key research areas include digital financial services and poverty alleviation, corporate sustainability reporting and ESG disclosure, Industry 4.0 adoption and readiness, and sustainable e-commerce and supply chain systems. His work has been published in peer-reviewed international journals, including Scopus-indexed outlets, and has been presented at international academic conferences held across South Asia and Europe. Methodologically, his research employs quantitative and mixed-method approaches, incorporating econometric analysis, regression modelling, PLS-SEM, and applied data analytics techniques.

Alongside academic research, he has accumulated professional experience in IT operations, systems administration, and academic project support, enabling the practical application of research insights within real-world technological and institutional contexts. This dual engagement in research and practice has contributed to a balanced perspective that integrates theory with applied problem-solving.

His technical and analytical competencies have been further strengthened through several professional certifications, including Python 3 Programming (University of Michigan, Coursera), AWS Fundamentals, SQL Fundamentals (Sololearn), Cyber Security (StationX), and Python Programming with Basic Data Science under the IICT–EDGE initiative at SUST.
