Area of Study

Mr. Hasnat’s research lies at the intersection of computational geotechnics, biogeotechnical engineering, and geohazard mitigation, focusing on developing sustainable and resilient ground improvement techniques. His recent studies explore bio-cementation through cyanobacteria-induced calcite precipitation for environmentally friendly soil stabilization and the use of waste-derived materials, such as crushed glass and fly ash, in geotechnical applications to enhance soil performance and sustainability. He has also investigated fiber-reinforcement techniques to mitigate desiccation-induced cracking in embankment soils, combining experimental methods with image analysis and microstructural characterization. Currently, his work extends to finite element modeling (FEM) for slope hazard assessment and failure probability analysis, aiming to integrate experimental insights with computational modeling for practical geohazard mitigation strategies in complex terrains.
